FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:
- What is ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE and LOCAL RECOVERY?
- This is basic cover and ideal if you do not do long journeys.
- It applies if you are more than one mile from home and covers breakdown, running out of petrol, lost keys and even flat tyres.
- The engineers will make every attempt to repair the vehicle at the roadside within a one hour time limit
- If it is not possible to repair the vehicle at the roadside within one hour, the vehicle and passengers will be moved to the nearest garage within a 20 mile radius of the breakdown.
What is DOORSTEP?
- This applies to breakdowns within one mile of your home, even in the drive!
What is NATIONAL RECOVERY?
- This means that, if the vehicle cannot be repaired at the roadside within one hour, we will take you, your car and passengers, to a garage and, if the vehicle cannot be repaired there by the end of the current working day, we will transport you and your passengers, as well as the vehicle if required, home or to your final mainland UK destination.
- Or, if you wish to continue your journey by other means, we pay up to £100 for a hire car or public transport or for overnight accommodation..
What is EUROPE RECOVERY?
- As per National Recovery but from the European area as detailed in our full policy wording. A trip is defined as a period of no more than 31 consecutive days commencing and ending in the UK area.
- If your vehicle breaks down and cannot be repaired within seven days of your scheduled departure date, we will pay up to £750 for a hire car to allow you to continue your trip.
Are there any vehicle age limits?
- Yes, vehicles should be no more than 15 years old.
Does my cover include breakdown due to vandalism and accidental damage?
- Yes, within the geographical limits of the cover.
What about lost & broken keys, lack of fuel, use of wrong fuel and flat battery
- The cost of attending and recovery is covered but the cost of materials and parts is not
Is there a limit to the number of claims I can make?
- Yes, the limit is six claims in any one 12 month period of insurance.
Am I covered if my vehicle is stolen?
- Yes, if the vehicle is not recovered by the end of the working day we will pay for one journey for the insured and passengers to be transported to the insured's home address or the original UK mainland destination address
